How far are you from the main town?

We are approximately 2km from the heart of Byron Bay. That equates to a 6 minute drive or a pleasant 20 minute stroll along the beach or via Shirley St.

What is there to do in Belongil?

Our property is just around the corner from two trendy restaurants: The Tree House Cafe and the Belongil Bistro. Both offer breakfast and lunch 7 days a week, the Tree House is also open for dinner and often has live music or DJs in the evenings.

The beach is a few steps away and is great for swimming, surfing and paddle boarding.

How do I get there from the airport?

There are several companies offering regular shuttle services from any nearby airport directly to our property. You can just get off the plane and step on the shuttle bus (please keep in mind that some of them only accept cash) or you can book the service online. Can I swim, kayak, paddle board or fish in the creek?

The creek water is clean but looks brown as it is colored by tannins from tea tree. We do not usually advise swimming as there is no place to safely go in and out of the water.

Our guests and neighbors often go kayaking and paddle boarding along the creek – it is perfect for those activities and will offer you beautiful scenery all the way to the beach.

Fishing is not permitted as this is a wildlife sanctuary. We would rather you not risk getting fined by the rangers and leave the fish for the local wildlife. Additionally please remember that you need to have a fishing license to fish anywhere in NSW.

Where could I hire a bike, kayak, paddle board etc?

You can hire bikes, boards, snorkel gear and more from many places in town. Surf & Bike Hire claims to be the best bike hire in Byron bay. Soul Surf School offers many fun beach items as well as surf lessons.

Do you provide bath towels and bed linen?

Yes! You should bring your own beach towels however. Alternatively you can hire beach towels from Byron Bay Holiday Hire. They also offer beach chairs and umbrellas.

Please note that your towels are provided for the duration of your stay, except in case of stays longer than 5 nights.

What are your booking and payment terms?

10% of the balance is charged from the credit card you provide in your booking form within 24h of making the booking. The balance is due with in 14 days of arrival and will be deducted automatically from the credit card used on the original booking. Please make sure there is sufficient funds on this credit card within this period.

 (Please note that there is a 2% surcharge on all credit cards & there are no eftpos facilities availble)

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations received within the week prior to arrival, the full amount must be paid for. If cancellation is received in writing up to 7 days before the date of arrival 10% of the total price of the reservation will be charged as cancellation fee. The guest can also choose to keep the total price of reservation as credit for a future booking, in which case no cancellation fee is charged.

*We reserve the right to cancel any booking and provide a full refund if any unforeseen circumstances arise.

When is my cottage serviced?

Our cottages are only serviced on stays of 7 days or longer. Additional services can be arranged and charged for accordingly.

Do you accept schoolies?

We do not accept schoolies unless each young person under the age of 21 is accompanied by an adult.

Can I leave my bags with you before I check-in or after I check out?

Please speak with one of our Housekeeping staff during your stay or call +61 413622777 before your arrival to arrange this option.

Can I add an extra bed to my room?

Unfortunately we can not change the bed configurations in any of the rooms or accommodate more guests than the maximum capacity of each room.

What time is check-in and check-out?

Check-in starts from 14:00 and check-out is at 10:30. Please notify us a few days before your arrival if you wish to arrive early or check out later. We can not guarantee the possibility of early check-in or late check-out, however we will do our best to accommodate the needs of our guests on a case-by-case basis.

I will be arriving late in the evening, how do I check in?

Can I hold a gathering or party on your property?

Our main goal is to provide a quiet and peaceful retreat for our guests and live up to the relaxing atmosphere at Belongil; therefor we can not permit any parties or gatherings on the property.

Do you have car parking?

Yes, we have 2 undercover parking spots, off street parking and on street parking. It is free of charge and operates on the basis of “first in best dressed”.

Can I bring my pet?

Unfortunately we are unable to accommodate any pets on our property due to the neighboring wildlife sanctuary.

How do I use the fireplace?

We do not provide firewood for the slow burning wood fired heater in our Luxurious Cottage so unless a previous guest has left some behind you will need to get firewood from the gas station. The most convenient place to get it is at BP Ozigo on Ewingsdale Rd, at the entrance to the Byron Bay industrial estate.

Do you have cots for babies?

Unfortunately we do not have baby cots on the property, however you can easily hire a travel cot from our partner Byron Bay Holiday Hire. They also offer strollers, play gyms and linen.

Do you have an iron and an ironing board?

We have ironing facilities in the Luxurious Cottage. If you are staying in any of the other rooms and require to use the iron please let our property manager Tracy know and she will arrange this for you.

Do you accept walk-ins?

Do you accept same day bookings?

Yes, you can book directly online or give us a call. If you do book online on the day you wish to arrive please notify us on +61 413622777 so we know you are coming and can make sure everything is ready for your arrival.

Which airport should I fly into to get to Byron Bay?

The most convenient and closest airport to Byron Bay is Ballina, it is only a 30 minute drive from our property and several airport shuttle services are ready to take you straight to our property.

There are also regular shuttle services to Byron Bay from Coolangatta airport (Gold Coast), Brisbane airport and Lismore. For more information go to http://www.byronbayshuttle.com.au.

Do you offer Gift Certificates?

A Beach House At Byron Gift Certificate is the perfect way to ‘WOW’ your friends if they have a penchant for unique experiences.

Things to consider prior to contacting us:

  • All certificates are issued as a beautifully presented printable PDF file.
  • Gift Certificates have an expiry date of 12 months from date of voucher issue.
  • You can gift a specific room for specific dates, however most people prefer a monetary value voucher that can be redeemed upon booking a stay with us.
  • Please note that a minimum 2 night stay is required.
  • Refunds are not given on purchases that incur less than the value of the Gift Certificate presented.
  • Gift Certificates cannot be exchanged for cash.
  • No responsibility will be accepted for lost or accidentally deleted Gift Certificates and such certificates shall not be refunded.
